Summer Walks

The weather has not been kind to us (to say the least!) this summer, and after weeks of rain and a dismal start to the day I cancelled the walk in Marigny in July. Nevertheless five hardy people met as arranged and, in emerging sunshine, had a pleasant, if rather muddy, walk around the countryside.

Andy and I then joined them for lunch in the town, where we enjoyed the usual lunchtime menu.

We were luckier in August as it was a beautiful sunny morning, just perfect for a walk. Attendance was not so good, though, as there were only three of us (and one dog), but we had a lovely walk along the farm tracks and lanes around Coudeville, a very pretty area with some great views of the sea.

Unfortunately the restaurant we had chosen for lunch was closed for its annual break, so we decided to go back to Chez Maryvonne in Hauteville-sur-Mer where we had had such a delicious lunch in June. We weren’t disappointed and again enjoyed one of the best lunchtime specials in the area.

Please see the events section for details of the final walk and lunch of this season, where we hope more of you will join us.
